Ignorance

September 11th is as good a day as any to discuss the subject of ignorance. Scott and I recently spotted a man in the grocery store wearing a shirt that said, in great big letters, "Speak fucking English." I had to cringe at such multi-levelled ignorance. I could rant and rave about it here, but I scowled and muttered enough at the store. I just wanted to bring it up so that my like-minded readers could shake their heads in dismay, while my, um, other readers could look down at their Confederate-flag T-shirts and ask, "Whuuut?"

Oh, yes, hatred is just so easy some people can't resist.

It's like stuffing your face with Big Macs and zoning out in front of TV every night.

Hey, I think I just described George Bush...

If ignorance is bliss then the world is a happy place.

Oh, I guess that explains it.
Whoopi Goldberg defended Michael Vick's involvement in dogfighting by saying "This is part of his cultural upbringing." Goldberg pointed out that Vick was raised in the South.
She apparently neglected to mention other cultural habits of the South, you know like slavery, lynchings, etc.

Oh Heather. I feel your pain. One time I was in the supermarket standing absolutely still in the middle of an aisle. A woman spun around to put a jar of baby food in her cart, banged her arm against me in the process and dropped the jar which smashed on the floor. When her husband heard the glass break he turned to his wife and said, "What happened, did you drop something?"
"No", she replied, then pointed to me and said, "He knocked it out of my hand."
